Update on the Feast 2024
As the battle on Israel’s northern front has intensified over recent days, the ICEJ is receiving inquiries about whether our Feast of Tabernacles gathering scheduled for 16-23 October in Jerusalem will still be held.
First of all, the prophetic vision from Zechariah 14:16 which inspired this annual Christian gathering calls on us to “keep the Feast” – so we will give it our best to indeed hold the Feast as scheduled, both in-person and online.
Second, it is still too early to tell exactly what might happen by Feast time, but if we had to start the Feast today, we could hold the physical Feast. The rocket fire from Lebanon so far has largely been confined to the northern one-third of the country. All our Feast events are in Jerusalem and the south, which remain quiet with no restrictions on movement or gatherings, and you can still get in and out of the country safely.
Third, the biggest obstacle for those who want to come to Israel for the Feast will likely be flights. This year, we have strongly recommended that your flight legs in and out of Israel should be through El Al Airlines, as they are the last to cancel. El Al also is offering round-trip tickets to and from Ben-Gurion at discounted rates over Vienna, Athens, Larnaca (Cyprus) and Dubai. So, if you can route your travel plans over one of these cities, you can hopefully find affordable seats. But you will need to show some determination to reach Jerusalem.
Finally, we have sensed for some time that this year’s Feast will largely be a solidarity mission and intercessors tour, and it makes a difference if you can join us to pray to the Lord together from within the Land of Israel. We also have excellent speakers and worship teams, and great things planned at our various Feast venues. Plus, there is a real opportunity to encourage and comfort the people of Israel as never before with your presence here at this particular time.
We hope to see you here for the Feast, or join us online!
